Fátima
Three shepherd children · Portugal
In 1917, in the middle of the First World War, three shepherd children, Lúcia, Francisco and Jacinta, said a lady from heaven appeared to them six times in the Cova da Iria. She asked them to pray the rosary every day for peace in the world. Francisco and Jacinta died young in the flu epidemic and were made saints in 2017. Today a small chapel marks the place of the apparitions, at the edge of a huge square where candlelight processions are held.
